If they stop eating, start to binge-eat, or have difficulty swallowing. If your child develops nightmares or other sleep difficulties. If young children putting fingers or toys in their anus or vagina. If your child tries to touch children or adults in their private areas, or if sex suddenly becomes a topic.
Some of these things might not be anything to worry about, but they might also be warning signs of abuse. Through my own experiences of being a child who was wrongfully touched by a family member, I hope to shed a little light on what to look out for. Most people don't know what signs to look for, or they overlook the little clues in front of them.
